LINIT U-Profile Glass System

The LINIT U-Profile glass system is constructed using Lamberts LINIT U-Profile glass secured either vertically or horizontally within a perimeter aluminium frame.

The system can be used in either single, double or even triple glazed, dependant on your project requirements. For even further customisation the system can be installed into curved facades or rake cut with mm precision at the Lamberts factory to achieve sloped facades.

Our in house experienced design team are always available to talk about how the LINIT system will suit your project.

Glass Surface
Types & Finishing

Lamberts Linit U-Profile glass is available in 8 standard surface finishes.  Each of these finishes are available in all standard profile widths in lengths of up to 7m!  Available in of standard cast glass (green tint) and Ultra-Low Iron Glass the glass can be further customised with either colour enamel to tempered glass or with PVB colour film to the Lamberts exclusive Laminated U-Profile Glass.

Safety Glass

When applying BS6262-4 for glass selection it is vital that the correct glass type is picked for the proposed application of the glazing product. Non-tempered annealed glass and annealed 8 wired U-channel glass are not a safety glass type. These types of glass must be removed from circulation areas and areas that provide direct contact.

In areas where a safety glass is required there are the options to use Lamberts Linits Toughened + Heat Soak Tested or Lamberts Exclusive Laminated Linit U-Profile Glass types. Linit Tough glass is produced in accordance with EN15683 (Thermally Toughened Channel Shaped Safety Glass) and both Linit Tough and Linit Laminated are independently tested and certified to BS EN12600.

LINIT Colour Enamel

Linit Colour Enamel is achieved by enamelling colour into the channel glass.  Colour ceramic frits are fired at 650 degrees celsius on to the inside surface of the channel providing a colourfast, durable, scratch resistant finish.  The process also tempers the glass, making the colourful safety glass suitable for all locations on your project.

The Multiplicity of Ral colours available and the option to enamel either one face or all 3 faces (returns as well) offer the widest choice to customise any façade.

For more information on available colours please contact our team.

Environmental

Linit U-Profile or U-Channel Glass is manufactured by Lamberts, a company with an ecological approach to manufacturing and since 2006 the factory has been powered only by green renewable energy.

In 1996 the factory switched to an oxyfuel glass furnace to produce their glass.  This type of furnace reduces fuel consumption and reduced nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions to an absolute minimum.  A new oxygen furnace was installed in 2011 and Lamberts are still the ONLY architectural glass factory in the world to produce glass using this oxygas/oxyfuel technology.  A sophisticated system of electric filters reduces particles in the waste gasses generated by the glass melting process.  The resulting emissions are substantially below strict quality regulations.  Lamberts specialised cooling ponds contain grass eating carp eliminating the need for chemical algaecides.

The amount of recycled glass in Lambert’s production is approximately 50-60% for standard glass and approximately 35%-45% for Low Iron glass (dependant on recycled glass available from the economic cycle and is a mixture of both internal recycling and port-consumer recycled glass).  For projects larger than 5000m2 Lamberts can increase the percentage of recycled glass on request and will also certify the amount of recycled glass content.

Lambert’s glass is 100% recyclable when ii is to be discarded in the future for whatever reason.  When recycled, no harmful side effects occur from the melting process.  These measures enable Lamberts to offer high quality glass products that successfully contribute towards an ecologically sustainable future for architecture.
