Broadmarsh Bus Station, MSCP & Library

Broadmarsh Car Park

Here we have a look back at a fantastic project completed during a Covid lockdown. Broadmarsh Bus Station is a mixed-use multi-storey cark park providing 1,200 parking spaces on 6 levels together with a bus station and interconnecting link bridge. It replaces the previous car park and bus station.

With a spectacular design by SGP Architects making great use of different LINIT Glass in the façade to create a bar code effect.

Glass types used on this project were:
LINIT 504 (Rough Cast)
LINIT Magico
LINIT Clarissimo

These glass type can be viewed on our page dedicated to the Linit U-Channel Glass found here: https://j-carchitecturalltd.co.uk/linit/

Thanks to Maple Sunscreening and Galliford Try for their assistance during construction, keeping the site running smoothly and safely during the peak of the Covid pandemic.

Viridor Project, Croydon

Balustrade Project, Croydon

A bespoke stainless steel / glass balustrade project completed at our Viridor project in Croydon.

J&C Architectural with our balustrade team installed a new bespoke balustrade system from satin finish stainless steel and glass panels, welded and polished to custom angles on-site to create the outdoor break area for the main conference room.

Another project showing the versatility of J&C Architectural to meet the needs of our clients beyond our core business of U-Channel Linit glass (which we are still providing custom fabricated toughened glass from our supplier in Germany within an 8 week material lead time).

Charity Run Update

Charity Run Update

Charity Run Update: On Sunday the 21st November 2021, one of our directors, Colin Woof, undertook a charity run dressed as Santa Clause by donning the famous red and white suit, beard, and cap to help raise money for disadvantaged children at Christmas. He did so on behalf of the charity, Children 1st running an impressive 5K.

We have received word that a grand total of £1131.25 was raised, contributed by 24 very generous donors. We would like to thank each of the donors for their contributions, every penny raised will go on to do some good for families during this festive period. It will allow many children to experience the joy of the season when they may otherwise have not been able to. Truly, THANK YOU ALL!

This money has enabled the charity; Children 1st, to empower families to fulfill their Christmas traditions and provide their children with the best Christmas possible.

The feedback from families has been overwhelmingly positive – “I was really worried about Christmas and talked to my children about not having enough money for presents, I felt guilty. I can’t believe you’ve been able to help in this way. I’m greeting here, so emotional, thanks so much.”

Children 1st is Scotland’s National Children’s Charity. Children 1st supports children in Scotland to live in safe, loving families and to build strong communities. The charity works with children, young people and their families to uphold and progress their rights and improve systems that support them across the country.

We at J&C Architectural Ltd are proud to say we have played a small part in helping this goal, with thanks going of course to Colin Woof for his effort in running the 5K.

South Cambridgeshire District Council building

South Cambridge District Council Building

Phase 2 of the Façade replacement project at the South Cambridgeshire District Council building – North Screen #1 complete with new Lamberts Linit glass installed horizontally.

This project was the second replacement screen at the South Cambridgeshire Council building. This change was due to some storm damage the previous screen had incurred. The glass used was sent to the site within 6 weeks from the design release. The team worked to ensure that all standards were met and that the impact on people using the building was kept low.

The result of the replacement produced a clean, modern look to the façade and the building overall, resulting in a happy clientele. As the testimonial given below will show.

‘Great communication and excellent customer-focused service. The whole team was professional
throughout and continually worked to a high standard. J&C was a pleasure to deal with and any
issues that arise were dealt with promptly and with minimal impact to our building users.
They often when above and beyond to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.‘     –   South Cambridgeshire District Council
