Osier Way, London Update

Osier Way

J&C Architectural Ltd.’s works are ongoing at the Osier Way Project for Bennett Construction (London) Limited, in which 196 affordable residential units and commercial premises are being constructed to the Architects ‘Leach Rhodes Walker’s design.

Our remit is a mix of single and double glazed screens to stair cores 1 & 2 and triple glazed screens to Link blocks C1 & C2.

The chosen glass is a mix of Linit EcoGlass with a roughcast finish in both 8 wire and toughened, with full sandblast & localised partial sandblast areas.

Works are complete to Links C1 & C2 and all areas of the two stair cores leaving only the closure at the hoist openings, which are now in progress.

J&C Architectural continues to work with our glass manufacturer Lamberts GmbH to provide Linit glass, manufactured from start to finish in their factory based in Germany, and maintaining an 8-week lead time for fabricated U-Channel glass from order to site.

University of Sheffield, Update 2

University of Sheffield

Work is progressing well going forward on another of J&C Architectural Ltd.’s latest projects, the University of Sheffield. This project involves the use of the LINIT Double Glazing System, which provides great insulation and soundproofing properties ideal for use in schools and universities.

As can be seen below, we have before and after images of one of the completed rotunda levels demonstrating the dramatic difference that the use of the LINIT Double Glazing System has made to the space. The use of this glazing system has transformed the area into a more visually appealing, functional and comfortable environment for students, faculty and staff.

The University of Sheffield project is yet another example of J&C Architecture’s commitment to delivering innovative and high-quality designs that meet the needs and expectations of their clients. The success of this project is a testament to the expertise and skill of the J&C Architecture team.

Eel Pie Island, Twickenham Completion

J&C Architectural have recently completed our U-Channel glazing works on a refurbishment project on Eel Pie Island, brightening up a loft space in an area being used for ensuite facilities.

The existing solid stair walls were replaced by Linit Ultra Low Iron u-channel glazing, to transfer the natural light from a staircase window and skylight into the two ensuites.

The result, shown below, is a contemporary stylish finish.

Our thanks go to South Derry Construction Limited who as Main Contractor kept the site running smoothly, safely and on programme.

J&C Architectural continues to work with our glass manufacturer Lamberts GmbH to provide Linit glass, manufactured from start to finish in their factory based in Germany, and maintaining an 8-week lead time for fabricated U-Channel glass from order to site.

Charity Run Update

Charity Run Update

Charity Run Update: On Sunday the 21st November 2021, one of our directors, Colin Woof, undertook a charity run dressed as Santa Clause by donning the famous red and white suit, beard, and cap to help raise money for disadvantaged children at Christmas. He did so on behalf of the charity, Children 1st running an impressive 5K.

We have received word that a grand total of £1131.25 was raised, contributed by 24 very generous donors. We would like to thank each of the donors for their contributions, every penny raised will go on to do some good for families during this festive period. It will allow many children to experience the joy of the season when they may otherwise have not been able to. Truly, THANK YOU ALL!

This money has enabled the charity; Children 1st, to empower families to fulfill their Christmas traditions and provide their children with the best Christmas possible.

The feedback from families has been overwhelmingly positive – “I was really worried about Christmas and talked to my children about not having enough money for presents, I felt guilty. I can’t believe you’ve been able to help in this way. I’m greeting here, so emotional, thanks so much.”

Children 1st is Scotland’s National Children’s Charity. Children 1st supports children in Scotland to live in safe, loving families and to build strong communities. The charity works with children, young people and their families to uphold and progress their rights and improve systems that support them across the country.

We at J&C Architectural Ltd are proud to say we have played a small part in helping this goal, with thanks going of course to Colin Woof for his effort in running the 5K.
