University of Sheffield, Update 2

University of Sheffield

Work is progressing well going forward on another of J&C Architectural Ltd.’s latest projects, the University of Sheffield. This project involves the use of the LINIT Double Glazing System, which provides great insulation and soundproofing properties ideal for use in schools and universities.

As can be seen below, we have before and after images of one of the completed rotunda levels demonstrating the dramatic difference that the use of the LINIT Double Glazing System has made to the space. The use of this glazing system has transformed the area into a more visually appealing, functional and comfortable environment for students, faculty and staff.

The University of Sheffield project is yet another example of J&C Architecture’s commitment to delivering innovative and high-quality designs that meet the needs and expectations of their clients. The success of this project is a testament to the expertise and skill of the J&C Architecture team.

Eel Pie Island, Twickenham Completion

Design shown for Eel Pie Island utilised Linit U-Profiled Channel Glass

J&C Architectural have recently completed our U-Profiled glazing works on a refurbishment project on Eel Pie Island, brightening up a loft space in an area being used for ensuite facilities.

As part of the renovation, the existing solid stair walls were replaced with Linit Ultra Low Iron U-profiled glazing, designed to channel natural light from both a staircase window and a skylight into the two ensuites below. This innovative use of U-Profiled Glass not only enhances the flow of light throughout the space but also brings a modern aesthetic that complements the contemporary feel of the loft.

The usage of U-profiled glass allows light to permeate through the space without compromising  the privacy of the persons using the ensuites.

The result, shown below gives the space a modern contemporary stylish finish.

Our thanks go to South Derry Construction Limited who as Main Contractor kept the site running smoothly, safely and on programme.

J&C Architectural continues to work with our glass manufacturer Lamberts GmbH to provide Linit glass, manufactured from start to finish in their factory based in Germany, and maintaining an 8-week lead time for fabricated U-Channel glass from order to site.

Level 40, Tower 42, London Completion

Work has now finished on Level 40 at London’s famous Tower 42 as part of our fit-out works for J&C Building Services division.

The newly completed works included the installation of ELV cabling, a smart lighting system, floor boxes throughout and ventilation alterations.

As well as these the works saw the installation of partitions, toilets, sinks, a complete tea point with dishwasher and fridge-freezer, ceilings, sockets and switches, flooring, decorations, lighting fixtures, acoustic panelling, and a brand-new reception desk area.

Part of our duty was to ensure all of the respective fit out was installed properly and professionally to ensure that all functioned as it should.

This fit-out was undertaken throughout Level 40’s office, lobby and communal areas and provides the spaces with a professional, sophisticated look that is welcoming to employees and clients alike.

The team at J&C Architectural Ltd enjoyed a team-building Christmas night out together. We began our day with drinks, dinners, and desserts at the wonderful Il Pavone Italian restaurant in Glasgow’s Princes Street. The food and drinks were excellent, as was the service provided by the employees of Il Pavone.

Following this, we took on the challenge of Axe Throwing, Darts, Shuffleboard, Beer Pong, and the gauntlet team race of Nolf at Boom Battle Bar in St Enoch’s shopping Centre in Glasgow. Chaotic fun was had by all as teams formed for each of the games.

The final winners of each game were Simon for Axe throwing, Billy for Darts and Mandy took the top spot in points for Nolf. See the video below for our axe throwing champion, Simon in action.

We, at J&C Architectural Ltd would like to wish you all reading, a very Happy Holidays during this Winter season.

Eel Pie Island, Twickenham

Design shown for Eel Pie Island utilised Linit U-Profiled Channel Glass

We are pleased to have recently completed our U-Channel glazing works to an exquisite and unique property on the picturesque and World Famous Eel Pie Island, on the River Thames, Twickenham.

This four bedroom Edwardian property, accessed only via a footbridge from Twickenham’s recently renovated Embankment, is situated on the closest inhabited Island nearest to the centre of London.

Having recently changed ownership and undergoing extensive renovations and upgrades the client sought some additional light into two upstairs bathrooms. Appropriating light from the staircase Velux window, the solid stair walls are replaced by Linit P23 & P26 Ultra Low Iron, Clarissimo, Toughened and Heat Soak Tested, sandblasted (Matt) units.

Our sincerest thanks go to South Derry Construction Limited who as Main Contractor kept the site running smoothly and safely.

J&C Architectural continues to work with our glass manufacturer Lamberts GmbH to provide Linit glass, manufactured from start to finish in their factory based in Germany, and maintaining an 8-week lead time for fabricated U-Channel glass from order to site.

Osier Way, London

Osier Way

Work begins! First delivery of materials being delivered to Osier Way, London in preparation for installation.

This huge residential development will see Communal areas, lift and stair cores seamlessly clad in Linit Toughened safety U-Profile glazing.  The built on-site nature of the system means that different components can be shipped, moved and stored on-site without the need for large lay down areas.  In this instance being installed off scaffold by hand without the need for specialist access equipment such as cranes of mast-climbers.  The limited specialised access requirements and relatively small components needed to install the Linit system make it a great fit for any project – especially those with challenging on-site logistics.
